wow, sweet! i love the late 70s goofiness.. my first car was almost a king cobra II... in retrospect i wish it had been tho the risk of my impressionable young self being sucked into the larger mustang world is a scary thought.

The president of our drag racing club has one parked in is back yard that I have been buging him bout for the past year. I think I am wearing on him though.:D
My dad has a friend that was selling one when I was a kid and my dad was tring to get it for my first car, the guy wanted $2000 for it and my dad offered $1500. The guy didnt sell it to us, but a month later he sold it to someone else for $1500:mad: without telling us. So ever since then I have wanted one.

Yeah, I remember reading a magazine article (MCG??) about that car. Original owner bought it in 1980 expressly for the purpose of creating a "survivor" down the road. Brought it straight home and stored it for the last 27 years.

I suppose for the resto reference information with it being totally stock and low miles someone will be willing to pay some big bucks for an F-body.

Kinda rusty in places for something that was stored "on purpose" youddathunk he'd have oil misted it or something.

I doubt the validity of the "actual miles." The door sticker says "altered by Cars and Concepts Inc.".... hmmm....How come that wasn't mentioned?

Cars and Concepts did all the Daytona T-Top conversions on our cars too. What's the problem with the sticker? Modifications were done before the car was for sale.

My guess is that the "Kit Kar" will aslo have a Cars & Concepts sticker for the factory body modifications.

And I'm also suspicious of the "actual miles". Can anyone say speedo disconnect?

If you scroll down to the seller question area the seller is coming clean on some of it by saying it has bondo and repaint. Makes you wonder what else they are "forgetting" to mention?

Yeah, can see the overspray on the rubber seal at the bottom of the back window. Also trunk fit looks crappy, anyone think it might have been rearended?

Late '70/Early '80s Mopars can be cool too! I have a '78 Dodge Magnum XE with the factory tow package which includes the 400ci HD Big Block "P" engine code. This quite possibly could have been the most powerful engine put in any American car that year. (I have not been able to find the listing for that year but previous "P" code engines were rated at 240hp.) According to the Galen Govier White Book, there were only 345 made with that engine. It is a very loaded car. (PW, PL, Cruise, Tilt, Power trunk release, Rear Defroster, bucket seats, console, factory Faria tach, 9.25" rear axle with 3.21 gears and Sure Grip.) I paid a whopping $100 for it! I haven't done anything with it in the last 10 years. It has a rod knock and outer body rust but it was heavily undercoated and is like brand new underneath.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the most powerful motor available in '78 were the 440's in police interceptor versions of the Fury and Monaco. IIRC, rated at 255hp net. Not available to the general public new though.

I'm jealous, I had a 78 magnum 318/727. Wish I could find one cheap even though I don't need anything else lol.

My guess is, once all the RWD cars from the early to late 80's get there insane values, the market for them and their counterparts from the 60's and 70's will crash and their prices will be at a rate that we can afford.. then the cars most of us grew up with from the 90's on.. their market share will increase.. as the post about the NADA values have shown.
