Which OS best for D-Cal ?

As the title says,I'm wondering which operating system people have found best to run D-Cal? I have windows xp on my laptop,and am having alot of trouble communicating with the smec.I have set it to run in win 98 mode for D-Cal,though the prompts on the screen tell me 'timed out waiting for Ack' ,and then 'could not communicate with ecu' .It did manage to load the smec once with one of rob's cal's,even though these messages come up,nothing since.
Any thoughts?:confused:

I imagine that most people, including Derek, are running XP, so it's likely that the issue is not with your choice of OS. If you want to try some other OS's without having to kill your XP install, use virtual pc 07. It's a free download and while you need the disk for the OS you want to install I'm sure you can find what your looking for SOMEWHERE ;).
