I'm thinking of picking this car up from my friend Mark Dailey in Paducah, KY. He is the one that bought that 1985 Shelby Charger I had. It has ALL of the CSX/Shelby specific parts. It's rough, but well worth the money.

Looks like a decent car, certainly a great candidate for restoration, and I couldn't think of a better home for it than your basement. Hows it look underneath?

Mark says the body is completely rust free. The motor has a rod knock and the a/c compressor is gone.

I really don't need the car but hate to pass on it. It's cheap enough and it has all the hard to find parts. I'm just going to drive myself crazy with projects. I have the GLHS to freshen up, the 1985 big block Ram project, and my grandfather's 1942 Farmall H to restore.

Yeah the 89's get all the glamour but the 87's are still my favorite of the Shelby P bodies:amen:

Come on, go buy it. Your running way behind me on projects :D .

Everything I've got needs to be restored, that's at least a dozen cars to keep me busy, and I'm looking to restore our John Deere A eventually also, Grandpa's first new tractor. Maybe we can have a vintage tractor pull at SDAC-30...lol...

I think I will. BTW, how is your's coming along?

All three of the Shelby Shadows have something about them that I like best. The 1987 CSX is my all around favorite. I had a CSX-T once and it handled like it was on rails. The brakes were awesome. The car seemed tons more solid than these junky L-bodies I have. I want to duplicate the suspension and brake setup on that car.

:D

If it ain't red, leave it in the shed! :D This Farmall H is the first tractor Pa-Paw owned. My uncle is presently restoring Pa-Paw's first new tractor. It's a really rare IH. It's a 1958 Farmall 350. I'm hoping to purchase it one day.

I say get it. The 87's are sexy, but then again I might be biased:D

We've got a Farmall C also, and that was the tractor I spent most of my boyhood summers driving around the farm so I've got some appreciation for the little red tractors, but I do love the sound of a 2cyl JD.

If you decide not to get the CSX I'm only about 6.5 hours from Paducah, so hook a bother up ;) I've got 5 87 CSX's around right now (a few of mine, and a few of JT's), it would be cool to have 6 of them in the barn right alongside the pair of CSX-T's

It would be a done deal if the car's number were #295. :)

Why 295?

My GLHS is #592. 592/295. It would be kinda cool, I guess.

I do believe I'm going to buy the car anyway. :)

I got the interior all back together. Got all the mechanical bugs worked out of it. It's licensed it runs and drives, passed emissions. Got some leaks here and there, but for the most part, pretty good. I'm planning on building a motor for the car, maybe as soon as this winter.

I don't plan on restoring it, just shooting some paint on it, make it presentable. I like driving it too much to worry about having it on the road and getting stone chips, etc. This way the omni's can sit, and I can still get my boost fix!

Actually, the CSX is one of the test mules for experimental OMNI-Potent products. :eyebrows:

Let's put it this way. Don't be surprised if L body stuff is not the only things that we do

I've decided to purchase this car. It's just too complete and solid to pass up. I just got to get rid of the Laser I'm parting out to make room for it in the basement.

I passed this car on to a friend that wanted it more than I did. You should be seeing it around soon.

I shouldn't get credit for saving it. My friend Mark Dailey (username=markus) in Paducah, KY is the one that saved it. :thumb:
