Well I found that one of the new axle seals had backed out slightly dislodging the drivers side axle. I thought the a555 tranny was going out so I was getting ready to pull it when I noticed the axle seal out. I drove it about 10 miles with the diff. acting funny and making alot of noise but it still shifted fine. What are the chances I could put a new seal in, refill it with oil and be fine? What are the chances something came apart in the tranny and disslodged the axle and seal? The car will still move under it's own power.
Thanks in advance,
John

I would try just replacing the seal, and see what it does.

Also, is 15min really enough time to necessitate a BTT?

It is when you don't have anything else to drive. lol

Well not so lucky. I got to looking at it and the diff. bearing exploded which is what pushed the seal out. Once I get the tranny out and the differential cover off, if the gears, etc. aren't chewed up too bad I'm going to take to a local sshop and have new bearings pressed on it. At least they look like they press on from what I can see just having the axles out.
