View Full Version : Dodge concept car at Carlisle
I was just curious about this car. I never seen anything like it before. Does anyone have information about it's history?

Got a picture from the front? That might help me recognize it.

I don't know, but I'd say it has something to do with a pace car. :thumb:
yeah, it was one of the interceptor concept cars (not the Wraith car, a different generation if I remember correctly). They used it somewhere (DMS??) as a pace car if I remember right.

I know that some of the previous "interceptors" were based on L bodies. Not sure if this one is or not.

I've got an article somewhere on that car, and I do think it was L-body based. It was a PPG pace car.

I was just going to say that it was in an early 80's issue of Hot Rod magazine but I see the photo already shows that.
IIRC that car was built here in SoCal at MetalCrafters.

next time I have my '80s Popular Science magazine collection out I'll look for it, think I've seen it in there.
Here's the front. The first thing I thought of was the Wraith car. It looked like customized laser to me. Pretty cool anyway.

Thanks Clay and everyone! Looks like an L body steering wheel on there from the allpar site.
