ok guys..Right now my Daily driver is an 89 2.2 T2 Shadow with A555 with 140,000 miles. The body/interior/motor is in great shape but im looking for something reliable and new to drive around. I really want an SRT4 but since I can work on cars I like to make things difficult for myself but in the end I could have an srt4 for a fraction of the cost.

Give me your thoughts on a how hard it would be to swap a 2.4L srt4 motor/tranny/electronics into an older 2door neon.

Its alot of work, I have done it BUT if you get the complete powertrain, and I mean EVERYTHING, it should be that bad. Nothing on the 2.0L works.
You will need to run standalone or use the 2.0L DOHC wiring and modify it then run a customer computer or make the SRT computer work. You can buy mounts to bolt it in also.

Installing a regular 1st gen 2.4 is pretty easy. Been there, done that, drive it daily. Mine is a 95 Neon Sport Sedan with 96 2.4. It made 144whp/144 ft lbs of torque with underdrive, pacesetter header and 3.0 intake. Runs 15.4@90mph. I finished sixth in raw time at last weekend's autocross.

Right now, you can't get the the right motor mount bracket needed for the swap. All sources are out of stock. Unknown when they will be back in stock.

i was reading that how to guide. It does seem difficult because he talks like you have to have every last harness from the srt4. Its just not a simple engine harness and engine swap....
