Sorry that I could not make it down this evening for the Friday night opening bash of alcohol! HAHA My brother, myself, Brandon, and Rob had our work cut out for us working on some things. We'll see everyone tomorrow however! Hope you're enjoying yourselves thus far and had pleasant trips over to our area.
Weather is looking fantastic for the event!

And as Pat mentioned, who was driving a white truck which pulled a black Omni (GLH, GLH-T, GLHS) on a trailer behind it between the Arnold City and Uniontown/Pittsburgh exits around 6:00? You may have caught a glimpse of me and Pat doing about 90 going the opposite way! haha

After the nitrous burnouts we set off some fireworks and sent an airbag sailing about 40 feet in the air. Its been a sweet time so far!

Many excellent cars at the show yesterday and long parking lot drinking sessions.

Arent you supposed to be in Fredericksburg looking at that Masi? Get your arse moving!!!!!

Says the guy who lounged around in bed till noon:p My Arse was on the way to Fredricksburg VA (250+ miles from SDAC ) by 9 am after I fell asleep in the 300 following my stomach contents finding their way onto the tarmac:yuck:

Of course we had to go to a tire store and get two new meats for the 300 Hemi, not a good plan to drive that far on tires with the cords showing... Guess what, seems those 225/60/18 are QUITE EXPENSIVE:mad: $404.95 later, we were on the road.

It was a 550+ mile day but yes I bought a TC Maserati 16V car. 89 Burgandy/ginger/black car with 79K miles. Been sitting at least three years and Patrick P and I had to install both strut asxsemblies, divers side control arm, axle, hub, knuckle All of which came out here to Pitts in Pat's and my luggage:D TSA guys opened up all the hastily wrapped greasy parts and probably set a record taping that stuff back shut when the saw how grimy they were:lol: I hope they got some on them, they did a shite job of repacking it and some grease got inside my duffel. If they don't make minimum wage, they should:censored:

Anyway, here's a couple pics. more later but I am way behind the group on beers as Pat and I just got back at 11pm.:partywoot:

Guy in the red shorts is Lex, the previous owner, he fixes golf carts, pretty handy guy. Not sure why he stole so many parts off the TC over the last few years though... Something about fixing another one. When I asked him if the 'other one' is a 16V car too, he said no. I asked OK, where's the axle then because it will not fit the other motored TC's? Memory was a bit fuzzy on that point though...

Wouldn't of happened without my codriver Patrick, no way I could operate a vehical this morning. I couldn't even see strait until noon or so. You da man Patrick. Pat Melendy, you owe him BIG TIME:amen:

You know, you can fix just about anything with zip ties, hope the transport guys know the brake caliper on the driver side is only zipped into place. It might stop, then again...

What results were you wanting to know about the drags, Steve? The #8 qualifier for the Quick 8 was a 13.18 if I remember correctly. Final was between #1 Qualifier OhioRob in his 2.4L Shelby Charger against James Reeves' GLH-T. Rob was having some ignition poppin issues up top all day and was running about a 1/2 second slower than usual. Reeves finally got it to hook and rip running a new personal best of 10.73 @ 133mph with a 1.73 60' and a sweet 104.8mph in the 1/8th!

2.216VTurbo

The parking lot nitrous project 300 C Hemi ran 15.04 91mph on just the motor, and after upping the jets and mixing and matching a bit, ran a best of 13.26 @ 108.40 with a 100 shot nitrous. I so wanted that 12.90 run. As you can see, I just missed the quick 8 last spot:( More pics and details when I get home. I am a bit buzzed, it's after 1am and our flight leaves at 7am:o

There is a special kind of bond I feel with the SDAC folks that I have spent the last four days with. Though I have known some of them online and over the phone for 15+ years, spending face time with them and sharing our passions together is very fulfiling. Hard to explain:grouphug: but this about does it.

Reeves finally got it to hook and rip running a new personal best of 10.73 @ 133mph with a 1.73 60' and a sweet 104.8mph in the 1/8th!

Way to go James!! So someone spill, what did he do to hook, and what boost was he at? Still really rich? C'mon, someone get him on here!

Anybody remember how Bruce B's car ran?

fleckster
06-27-2007, 08:14 AM
He lowered his launch RPM some, he had a little clutch slip earlier in the day that went away (??? - It is a four year old clutch) and he added a bit more boost that earlier. (over maxed out 3 Bar MAP but based on sensor voltage from alky system, it was estimated to be 33psi of boost)

We can't get him on here as he was still up "hitting it" in the parking lot until at least 3:45am...

Bender had some good runs in the mid 11s but snapped an axle early then something major in the transmission let go (input shaft or other main line component???) ending what looked to be another serious run for him.

The Steel City Chapter did an AWESOME job! The Poker Rally was a ball & I even raced the new vert for the first time & won $45 in the boogie race! I'm tired & beat & just had cake for my brother's 27th bday today. So I'm heading home soon....don't have my PC back yet, but I did manage to get my pics uploaded to MySpace. Ya you did! The picture tells stories! Cigar was a cuban from either myself or Steve Menegon. The beer was from some bystandard. The burnouts in the background were immense and very common by Alan. The tire piles in the park spot were from Alan when he was drunk and said he had to get something out of the car... instead he put the car in reverse and did a burn out. The vomit is Alan obviously. The cardboard tube in the center was a smoke bomb that Alan threw under the car as we were working on the wiring... we thought a battery started melting down form a short.

So ya, you missed one hell of a time!

I've finally finished adding captions to our 170+ SDAC-17 car show photos and have uploaded them to a new gallery on the SDAC website here: http://www.sdac.org/sdac_photo_pages/sdac_photos.htm
Scroll down to the bottom for the SDAC-17 gallery link.

All the cars registered for our show are there, with captions noting the owners of the cars and the class winners. Click on the gallery thumbnail pics to see the full size pics with captions.

The pics are arranged by car show class number and car number. So, for example, all the 1986 GLHS's are the first pics in the gallery as those were class #1.
