I remember Cliff Sebring had a very early turbo PT with an automatic at the track years ago. Ran mid 15's if not mistaken.

The 5 speed Turbo PTs (hi po version) I believe run low 15s. Something in the neighborhood of 15.1 with the right driver and launch technique.

thats depresing! I was thinking more lowe 14's. I wonder why they are so much slower then a srt? they are only a couple hundred pounds more.

It shows all of the 1/4 mile times for PT Turbos... Enjoy!

Figure in a couple hundred pounds and a majority are automatics which seriously slow them down (They even have an ECU that pulls more timing between shifts to keep the weak transaxle together.) and you can see why they would be a fair amount slower. They are still a nice ride though!

I went and drove it this weekend. I was VERY unimpressed. It was very doggy, and felt about as snappy as my old single cam neon.

Long story short, the dealer is keeping it! haha

Hey...SRT mods seem to work well on them! I'd own one even if they are doggy is stock form.

I really don't think the pt gt is doggy in stock form, especially the manuals. Depending on how the used pt was cared for (oil in the i/c, plugs/wires ect), that could account for it being down on power, not to mention its probably being filled with 87 (courtesy of the dealership lot attendents).

I was also thinking it probaly has some boost leaks. They are very common in the srt crowd. I think I may see if I can bring it home for a day and look it all over. What do you think is fair for a 03 PT GT with 57k and a body in fair conditon?

After doing a lot of searching myself for PT's and finding that most N/A Cruisers were going for around 9K to 10K - regardless of mileage and year model, I would bet the Turbo's for at least 2K more.

I managed to get my 2004 PT for about $9,500 with 41K miles on it. And even though it is a N/A with 5 speed manual, I am still glad I got it and find it to have plenty of pep. Not too mention the 30+ mpg I am getting with it. I can easily go over 400 miles on a tank of gas. It is without a doubt one of the nicest cars I've owned.

Yeah but all you need to do is get the stage one computer and it adds almost 60 whp for the pt. They pt gt is just a de-tuned srt motor with gay intake manifold.

They do share the same turbo and all the same internals right? Would make an awesome sleeper in my eyes. My t1 shadow was doggy too when I bought it, now I go out an whoop mustang tail regularly.

If I remember my FMML days correctly. It's not a gay intake manifold, ...it's a garry intake manifold.

Yes I helped design both intake manifolds the aluminum and the plastic one. Call them what you must, it has to do with packaging in the vehicle for the specific design. Though the plastic is better then the aluminum.

i have an 04 gt dream cruiser 5 spd. ive run it twice...15.0 1/4 mile times. since then, ive added stage 1 pcm, airbox mod @k/n, and a plate bov, the funnest mod and cheapest, removed muffler. ive yet to go back to track, but it feels MUCH stronger now. stock tires offer little traction(but i cant see spending bucks for new ones). srts have some differences which make them faster(lighter, intake, scooped hood, etc). but mine is LOADED and can still keep up and better most cars on the road, period !

What kind of gas mileage do you guys with 5 sp. GTs get? I've always wanted one and am curious how the mileage varies from the na pts. Thanks. djd.
