Before I start making my intake I need to know what tb to use? Are people using stock 2.0/2.4 tb's?

Ford 65mm but I'm going MS so I don't have to worry about a ChryCo TPS or IAC.

at least use a 52mm works great for most applications, or a 58mm

My brother is using a Ford 65mm TB. Just had to splice the Ford TPS connector to the TB. He's not running an IAC.

i have seen that a few people are running the phord parts, how difficult would it be to make this work, fairly simple?

Dakota 4.7 TB 68mm I believe. Spliced the connectors into the factory wiring and started the car up. Easiest way to go I think.

A popular one with the SVO guys is the 94-95 5.0 TB. Its quite large from what I hear and it transforms the throttle feel from a 2.3 to that more of 5.0. Interesting stuff.

That sounds a bit big, I know 8 valve is a different beast but tried a 58 on mine and it slowed down. When I get my TIII up and running, I will try a 52 and 58mm to see what happens, :thumb:

I upgraded the stock 46mm to a 52mm. I noticed a bit of a difference in response, but my fuel economy went to pot.

As big as but not smaller than your intercooler outlet pipe!
68mm Phord works out nice.

Was it hard to wire up?
I bought one and changed my mind. I'm thinking the 4.7 Dakota might be the easier hook up. If anyone is interested, the Jeep TB is on ebay right now. Here's the link to the auction.

MPx 62MM for my car/project. :thumb: Kind of wish I would have just bored my stock TB from 52 out to 55mm and had it attached to my modified SRT-4 intake manifold. I'm losing cruise control by using this 62MM aftermarket SRT-4 TB.

Where are the phord ones measured? I've got one that came from in front of a 5.0 windsor in a '94 cougar, and there's about 3 different diameters to pick. Can't find out what it "should" have been on that car either.

All TB's should be masured at the back side where they mate up to the intake manifold. My 75mm 5.0L TB is almost exactly 75mm there.

Also need to keep this in mind when dealing with 2.2L/2.5L TB's as a 52mm TB measures 52mm at the back but more like 58mm at the front

The Jeep TB is really only 56mm but it has a nice taper in it to control the tip in. If you don't care about tip in you can have them bored to 60mm without changing the butterfly.

If you open it slowly and watch fromt he back side you can see that it has a gradual opening which gives more throttle control. I also like that it integrates the AIS into the main TB hole so you don't have to drill a separate hole in the flange to use it.

I have a couple of 60mm mustang TBs sitting around that I can sell cheap (on my garage sale signature link)

that's what I did with the neon flanges, had to mill a slot in there

you should the bump in the OBD1 VW VR6 throttle body's
the have a large ramp to aid in throttle tip in transition
they take a weird 3.125 or 3.25" hose too
