Anyone looking for one? What's the value on one of these? I know the letter cars are more desirable... I can't find any info on how many of these were made. I do know I've never seen one at any car show I've been too, but I've only been to local shows so...

Someone only 55 miles away from me is selling one with the 383 and push button auto. They are asking $2200 for it. It says the body is rust free, and that the inside of the car is complete. It also says the car hasn't been started in many years. There's only one picture of it in the ad, but it looks pretty clean from that one picture.

If someone on here happens to be looking for a car like this, I'd be happy to go take a look at it and take some more pics of it for that person.

If the collectability of this car is pretty high, I may see what I can do to get the money together and try and get it myself, lol.

Well I found the production numbers for this car in non-letter 2 door hard top form... 11,341. Compared to only 435 2 door hard top 300H's made that year.

Still not sure how collectible this car would be... obviously more collectible if it were a 300H, lol.

There's *nothing* cooler than an old 300.....

There was a 61 300G *convertable* sitting for years in our neighborhood, back in the 80's, black with white top, 413 crossram, etc. - the real deal, one of 326 built.

Our family asked many times to buy it, guy never would come off it.

One day it was gone.... :(

Now I see them on the net going for $180,000 to $225,000.... :banghead: :banghead:

Yeah the letter cars go for a rediculous amount. I saw a couple selling for well over $100,000 when I was looking for production numbers on the non-letter versions. Couldn't really find very many non-letters for sale either. A couple survivor cars going for around $10,000, and a couple restored cars going for around $20,000. One thing I didn't see, is any letter car clones (or at least any being sold that admitted to being a clone, lol). You'd think it wouldn't be too hard to make a letter car clone out of a non-letter car.

I'm not the type to buy a car just to fix it up and sell it. However I'd like to have the peace of mind that I could sell it if it came down to really needing the money.

Good info, thanks.

I don't think I'm going to pick it up, don't really have the money for it now. If anyone else is interested though, I'll go take a look at it for you.

If that's a 2-dr HT that's a pretty cool deal! I paid 1800 ten years ago for a very nice 62' newport 4-dr sedan. Nothing special just a cool old cruiser. So if that is a hardtop and fairly clean 2200 is a pretty damn good deal.
