Nephew has a '99 Aurora. Message center says Change Oil Now. After we change the oil, how do we reset the message?

Turn the key to on, then press the gas peddle to the floor and release 3 times(at a decent pace), wait for the light to start blinking. Then it should go out.

If that doesn't work there may be a rest button in the fuse panel.

seems every single family member you have has problems with their cars, only to have you get all the answers on this board... geez, doesn't he have an owners manual?

the 3 gas pumps works usually... some GM cars have a reset button, some are under the hood in the fuse box and some are under the dash in the interior fuse box.

ha ha ha. You are absolutely correct. I'm the only one that wrenches regularly and this board is actually the best resource for car related questions I have ever found. All members are extremely helpful and the speed at getting answers is amazing.

And, according to him, he checked owners manual, didn't find the answer. He changed oil and called around locally. Local shops told him they could only reset the message themsleves and only after changing the oil themselves.
