A long, LONG time ago I remember looking through an old car magazine and they had a small article with some pictures of a Turismo with a ground effects package (similar to the S.C.), a unique decal package and turbo I. The one in the pic was white with a red (?) CUDA down the quarter. Does anyone remember seeing anything like this or have the drugs caught up?

It's not the drugs! I don't have the link at the moment, but your memory serves you correctly. :amen:

It is in teh pics... I am not sure if it is now as the car was for sale. As story has it...

The original owner was a Belvidere plant worker... there were elegedly two turismo based "Cuda" cars made, Shelby said "No" or "you cannot use my GFX w/o my name" or something... They crushed teh one car, this one was supposed to be re taged as a "Turismo" and the plant guy bought it... it was pretty much hidden for years... first time it appeared at any local shows or the Mopar Nats was in the mid '90's... One of the SDAC-CL members is a Chrysler tech and the car came into the dealer he was working at and he got the first two pics from the original owner...

...and thats about all I remember off of the top of my head.

Somebody here should build a clone of that car or the red one. Talk about wierd looks and people asking questions!

I never noticed that it's sporting an 85 or 86 Laser/Daytona spoiler! That looks good on there!

The white with black accents on the front end looks PIMP alone! If I come across another L-body, I definitely want to make it a Cuda package, mmmmm! Thanks for the additional pics. JT!

I'm guessing that its a vanity plate? 66295

Not necessarily that is a vanity plate. That is just an old number for them. That is the old plates also.

BTW it's from Illinois...

I think that you can get a stripe set like that from positive impressions correct? or was that just for the rampage?

I'm sure he can make ones that say Cuda. I already asked him if he could make the AAR stripe that said Scamp instead of Rampage and he said he could.

Sorry I did not see that. :o

Back in the 80's the plate sequence was kinda random. It depended on where you got them from.

I remember seeing that car at the Mopar Nats in Indy. It was beautiful. I love the paint scheme. They should have changed the ground effects package enough to suit CS and built that car.

Kevin, I would agree. I think that paint scheme, with a TII motor inside would be the stuff of legend like the GLHS.

I remember seeing that car at the Blevedere Mopar show back in 2000, Haven't seen it since. Can't seem to find my pictures from that show, but the car is sharp, I like it. Never did get to talk with the owner.

Anyone know what motor is hidden under that hood? If it is a Plymouth, do you think that they'd have just had a 2.2 carb motor under there? Or, since they used some of the CS parts, do you think they could have thrown a turbo motor under there after all?

The car was basically a repainted Shelby Charger. So, it has the turbo 1.
