i'm being stupid: how long can I get away with it?

I didn't replace the headgasket when I pulled the head, it's an MP, and has only seen 20psi 3 or 4 times. I will be running on 8psi to break in the trans and clutch. I have one on order, how many miles can I get out of the old one with no WOT?

Not long. DodgeZ tried to reuse one and it went pretty quick! Good luck though

I resued one once and it didn't last through the day.....this was with a less than 3 week old gasket too.

Yeah. once they're compressed they're done. I've had some luck reusing the metal gaskets on v8's where both the block and heads are cast iron, but I'd never try to reuse a headgasket between dissimilar metals.
