Question about shaved cylinder heads...

When a head is resurfaced, does the overall valve timing get retarded or advanced? I have a head on my car that's been shaved too much and I'm just curious which way my valve timing went. Thanks!

Found my answer. I thought it would retard the valve timing, but wasn't sure.

Shaving the head should retard the timing.
