Hello

I was nosing around the exhaust section of your website tonight and noticed you have a few different exhaust options which is nice. One can choose between cat back or a full system.

My question is the pipe size. when its listed as 3" is that OD or ID? I also didn't notice a system for my car. Which system woud fit an H body? Would any of the following listings fit? spirit/daytona/lebaron/caravan

thanks

BOOOOO! I was hoping otherwise. So now I'm going to have to get it custom made i guess :eyebrows:

thanks GLHNSLHT2 for the tip

I know when you buy new tubing or pipe, any measurements stated under 6" is for ID and after 6" it is OD, but I'm not sure in this case.

I'll measure mine, but I'm pretty sure it's OD.

All exhaust is OD unless special ordered. Straight tubing, all measurements are OD.

Hi guys

would anyone know where to grab some 3" ID pipe? Maybe push my luck with some radius bends too? :eyebrows:

Im rather suprised at all the false advertising for pipe size.. i use the term false advertising lightly.. im really only kidding around. I just expected 3" to be 3" pipe and not 2.7XX" or somewhere around there.. so i should try and find 3.25" pipe then i suppose, or get some 3.5"-4" pipe and have it crush bent, and it will [should?] flow like a 3" lol

Well, it's pretty thin walled, so the difference is not a big deal. A lot less than 0.25", for sure. I think tubing is traditionally OD because your flare/compression type fittings depend on the OD to be correct. The ID is not as important.

Yeah, I know. Most of my experiance has been with pipe, so I'm not familiar how they measure tubing. I have a friend who got a really nice tubing bender and if we called it a pipe bender he would get all pissed and correct us and tell us it's a tubing bender!:o

The way I understand it:

Tubing is seamless and measured by the OD (subtract the wall thickness to find the ID).

Pipe has a seam and is measured by the ID (add the wall thickness to find the OD).

Going by those guidelines, exhaust tubing isn't really tube or pipe in that it's measured like tube, but has a seam.
