So I went to the track tonight to baseline my Shelby Z before starting the mods. The car is stock except for a solid bobble strut and a g-valve that is set to stock boost levels. The tires SUCK, the track wasn't prepped all that well, my 3rd gear synchro is shot(I have to double clutch it to get it to go in), and I'm not used to launching a manual car.

I was expecting mid 15's at about 90mph. I got close...best of 15.7@88. My 60' times SUCKED! I couldn't get the thing out of the hole to save my life...I think my best 60' was a 2.6....:censored: :ballchain:. If it wasn't for the having to double clutch 3rd and crappy launches I would have been mid 15's. I'm not dissapointed though. The car lived up to about what I expected.

Now the mods can start! First I have to get this tranny situation squared away...

Not too bad :thumb: I remember some magazines listed them in the low 16's.

Well, like I said the car has a few issues, so technically it is faster. It did what I expected though.

Mike, I have the power and technology to make it better, faster, and stronger! I've got something for your "Hi!" car....but it'll be saying "Bye!" instead! I better change that left tail light, so you don't have to look at the one that's ont here that doesn't reflect anymore!

All kidding aside, once I get this one all together it might be a good race! I suppose we'll have to see....I just have to figure out how to launch the friggin thing!

I almost forgot, the car was VERY consostant those last two runs...even on the opposite lane!

The run at 9:45 went like this:
60': 2.584, 330: 6.761, 1/8: 10.277@71.01, 1000: 13.255, 1/4: 15.789@88.46

The run at 10:00 was this:
60: 2.547, 330: 6.780, 1/8: 10.274@70.99, 1000: 13.252, 1/4: 15.790@86.20

I can't figure out why the mph on the right lane was so much lower, but my firt run of the night was done in that lane and was about the same. I ran all but my last and first int he left lane and those were all about 88mph. Best I can figure is maybe the track is slower or the computer is calibrated off on that lane.

At any rate, I'm impressed considering the double clutching and my realative inexperience racing manual cars!

Chris,

I noticed that about the right lane to. In the left lane I ran 101mph and 102mph, but in the right lane I ran 97mph, but the right land also had the best time.
