looks sweet! one thing I notice though, what size down pipes are those? They look like they might be a bit small in pic two, but I could be wrong.

makes sense to me, what kind of specs will the motor have when its done?

The motor is .060 over (453 ci) 8.75:1 pistons, ported 906 heads, ISKY BB turbo cam. fuel and timeing will be controlled by A Holly comander 950 MPI system.

looks sweet, tho that driveshaft loop works better in the front:eyebrows:, lol just buggin ya, very cool tho. I'm surprised how well the 440 actually fits in that engine bay. Lol, I thought the 440 in my satellite was a pita to work on, can't imagine one with turbos in a daytona.:thumb:

Boost, 8.75:1, 906's and a holley efi controller seem a bit skiddish of a setup to me. How much $ is 100 octane gas these days anyway?;)

Is there room for a radiator with that monster intercooler in there? Well I guess I know what to do with my daytona when the floors are clear gone.

love the project! one question though. the exhaust manifolds... are they for mockup or are they final... the runner/plenum style isnt the best for flow on the exhaust side. just something to think about.

looks like a GREAT project.

what do you plan to run in that thing?

my dad got a built 86 with a 340, non turbo. its got the air shifter that is throttle stop for 11 second right now, but were gonna change that. he has a spare motor that is built more, roller and everything, that cracked the windshield before. my dad just bought the car at Don Garlits show last november, so we never got to taking it at the track yet.

let me know when you take it to the track though, and let us know your time slips!!!

if you dont mind me asking, where are you located? We should be taking the car to Orlando Speedworld when we take it to the track.

I looked at that car last week, was pretty clean from what I could tell, didn't look too hard because I would've been more interested in a 1st gen daytona that's been converted to TII.

If any body is interested, the car is located in Paw Paw. The car would be a nice home for a magnum 360...:thumb:

its guys like me that dream about doing something like that but dont have the resources (money time space etc) so I live vicariously through other peoples bad A** accomplishments, they make me feel like my dream is still alive and that some day I can call something that awesome my own, thanks for keeping my dream alive, that thing is sick.

You know, It's SO-SO true about us MOPAR guys. We ARE definitely NUTS!!!
That HAS TO be some of the prettiest work I've EVER seen. And the fact that it's going to be powering a DAYTONA!!!?!!! Man, we are everything the nay-sayers(ie:Chevy, Ford, Jap mobile lovers), say we are. AND DAMN PROUD OF IT!. Excellent work man. And thanks for holding the torch for us here in MOPAR land. Keep all those other wanna be car guys guessing.(lol)

OK bringing this back from the dead. Since my last update my parents moved down to Fla. from N.Y. My father left the Daytona with his friend to finish the body work and paint. He was up a couple of weeks ago so he could move it from the body shop to a garage. He will be trailering it back down to Fla. in April. Here a some pics of it painted.293282932629327

Sweet:thumb: With the factory color it's a real sleeper. Well, except for the huge rear meats and the turbos poking thru the hood, and the intake. OK, so it's no sleeper:lol:

Nice build! This may not be the place for the discussion but i always thought a "suck through" carb setup would be the way to go since then the carb would be functioning more like in an N.A. setup except that obviously it would have to be up sized. Plumbing would probably a bit more complicated i guess. But what if any mods need to be done to the carb to allow it to run pressurized with this "blow through" type setup?

Pressurize the bowl... have a way to up the fuel pressure to match... make sure you have a float that is able to hold up to the pressure.. make sure your carb is able to hold the pressure..

and tune until all of your hair falls out... Then still deal with drivabilty issues... a Drag car makes it simpler because it only has to do a couple things well.. but yeah.... there are not many people in the world that really understand that type of setup to really make it work.. Sure it is possible.. But at the end of the day... yeah.... It doesn't make much sense to me in this day and age... even a properly well tuned carbed turbo setup is leaving a lot on the table...

Sucking a fuel air mixture through a turbo isn't that much simpler to tune (although easier to set up).. and makes an intercooler practically impossible...

But look again at that "carb" used on this car... :)
