My dad needs a new AC compressor for his Horizon. What about this one? Are these quality? Has anybody used one of these? Do I need to get a clutch assembly in order to use this? Can I buy a clutch assembly separately if I need one? I'd like to get this...

Oh, and get this...my brother took the car to a Firestone to get an alignment, and they wanted to do $1900 worth of work on it. I just laughed...I could do it all and more for $750. Anyways...they quoted over $500 for a new AC compressor and clutch...so $50 looks pretty good to me.

Nope, won't fit. Each model has the lines hooked up differently and mounted differently. You can buy the clutches but they usually run a few hundred dollars also.

Why won't it fit? Every 85-90 2.2/2.5 compressor I've seen has been the same.

The lines are certainly different, but the compressor is the same and the ports are in the same location regardless of what body style they are put in.

As far as the clutch goes, yes they can be expensive, and it may be cheaper to find a compressor/clutch assembly than buying the parts seperate. But on the other hand if the clutch on the Horizon's compressor is still good you can swap it over and save a few bucks.

Now as far as what quality of a part your getting from a guy on ebay? Your on your own there....

The listing is for a Dodge Dakota, so its mouting is totally different, :D

I have seen quite a few variations on hose mounting, shared one pad, two pads, one at an angle etc. You could make it work that way by buying the correct hose and having them spliced together with the original by a hose specialist-like I will be doing with my TIII lines to my stock van lines.
