I was just wondering if anyone has tried this and what kind of durability they seem to have. I know from what I read they seem to be great for reducing the weight of the rotating assembly but are they apt to hold up as well as the h beams.

Which brand? If a name brand, I wouldn't see any issues.

I'm running Crower billet rods. 15+ years of hard racing on this engine and still working great.

Thats pretty good. I just talked to a guy last night that said they wouldn't hold up. I guess I should of specified I was looking into the billet aluminum rods.

Just called Crower. I guess their prices have changed a little bit. 1300 for a set of billet rods. Although theres not substitute for quality.

Sounds like my best money would be spent on a good steel rod with the most weight removed out of non-critical areas possible. Crower claims this and has a reputation to back it. Actually the price I stated was wrong. It would be 650 for a set. Thats not bad for rods stated to handle 800 hp. What do the Carillos's usually cost? I'd be interested in trying those as well?

Got 650 for Crower's and it looks like Carillo's would set me back nearly twice that. I will go with Crower in this case. This CB is going to be a beast. I just hope it holds together long enough to push a full interior L into the 11's.

you needent worry. you can push a fat shadow (relatively) into the 11's with stock T2 internals and a good tune. your billet steel stuff will be plenty strong. :)
