I bought some 235x60x15 MT drag radials yesterday, and I'm kind of worried whether they will do fine with the stock struts.

I wanted to install some G-body struts, this way it would bring the front end down a little bit.

I don't know if it will rub on the bottom of the strut or not. I know the wheel well is big enough.

Anybody got any ideas if it will work or not?

Well if you bought them already, why don't you just try them on?

Should've asked before you bought them if you were worried about fitment.

Bryan, the spring perch on the strut, is in the same location on the Shadow and Vans.

With stock offset GTC wheels, running 225/55R16's clear with no issues. The outer diameter of my tires is 25.7 inches, your slicks are 23 ish so you should be just fine. Just don't turn full lock when in the pits etc.

Theres the slick sizes, widths etc.

Thanks Simon. The struts I'm looking at getting are from a Daytona (g-body). Al (5spmini) did that to his and it looks dope as hell.

Mario I bought them first but I can always return them before I mount them on a rim, then they become unreturnable.

I did some checking, there 26.1 inches tall, so you will clear the spring perch, and there 8.5 inches wide, so you might need a different offset wheel or spacers-maybe?

Those drag radials you bought have a diameter of 26.1 inches.

Well sh*t. Even with stock springs it will hit the spring perch??

Are 225x50x15's the biggest I can go?

DUDE

Reread what I said, YOU WILL CLEAR the spring perch-diameter wise, but width wise you might contact the strut body, so you will need to put them on and check. You might simply have to run some wheel adapters or spacers or none at all.

Woah! Simon! You are all up in my grill dog!

I thought you meant clear, by clearing it vertically meaning going above it.

What are wheel adapters anyways? I haven't heard of those. I'll put them on and check it out.

In the meantime, CHILL girlscout.:cheer2:

I am chill dude, :drum: :peace:

Theres 2 ways to do it, get longer, stronger wheel studs and use a plate between your wheel and hub, this moves the wheel out. Some use them, some say there unsafe but if your studs are strong enough and you don't go very thick, it will be fine.
The other way is a plate bolts to your wheel studs, this plate has another set of studs, so strength isn't affected or you just buy new wheels,

Well the first thing I want to do with these drag radials is to measure their rollout. I do that on both tires. I bought a set once that had almost 3 inches more rollout than the other and I did not check this before I mounted them on rims. So once they were on rims and I bolted them to my vehicle and I went on a test drive my vehicle was making turns that I didn't want to make. That is when I measured and found out the problem.

These dr if good will be mounted on a set of 15 x 7.0 aftermarket rims that I had on RUBY a couple of years ago. But then the tires were 225/50x15 not 235/60x15. They should be real close in comparison.

that size will fit . i run the 16 inch ninja wheel with 225/50hr16. and only touch on left side of the trans on full right turn. but only when parking and stuff like that. i have a set of 6.5 by 15 crab wheel if you want to use them .to run them that what size is on them now.AL
