What is the advantage of an underdrive pulley vs the stock one?

Turns the water pump and alternator slower freeing up a little horsepower.

What are the reprocussions of this? Low voltage, over heating?

Got the car put together Kevin. Just need to prime the motor and start 'er up!

I'll take pictures when I get it running.

Possibly. I've not had any problems with mine.

Send me some pictures when you can. :thumb:

I had one in my CSX-T and never had any problems. The car was void of any stereo or anything to really tax the alternator, but I never really had any cooling issues either with a stock CSX Radiator.

It would tax the voltage in my omni a bit at idle, but that was with the crappy bosch alt that was in the car. Now that I have the nippo in the car, it is a lot better. The PS is a bit lack luster at idle in the omni, but that might not be caused soly by the UD pulley, as I have not looked into it too much.

My headlights dim a little at idle, but it still has no problem with the 12's bumping :thumb:

If I have my heater on, my headlights on, my radio on and my rear defrost on at idle, the voltage drops pretty low but it still doesn't drain the battery. It just kind of stays there, then when I take off from the red light it is fine, goes right back to normal. I never have any coolant temp problems either.

What kind of HP are we talking about? I don't want to take mine to the strip or anything, just make it "MORE FUN" to drive. I'm starting with a carbed Shelby Charger, and converting to turbo.

IIRC it is only about 6-10HP at 6K.

I forgot to mention. To be fair, the car doesn't have a radio, A/C, or heater.
