I have a common block in my car, and it was setup with the '87 gears and pulleys. I'm now going with the '89 stuff, so it works better with the setup ('89 block etc)

I pulled the crank gear (4 bolt) off my engine already. Today I pulled the CB crank gear off a donor car and the key fell to the ground. I didn't take note of a seperate gear key before.

Please tell me these gears are interchangable? Cause I'm going to all this trouble because the '87 setup isn't lining up right on the '89 engine.

88 and older square tooth crank sprockets don't work on 89 and up round tooth CB or's common blocks.

You have to use the 89 crank gear, round tooth cam and int pulleys, crank pulley. Also the CB has a reverse rotation waterpump.
