you need to modify your exhaust manifold flange to T25 style but this turbo should work very well in your application!!

Shouldn't a Garrett turbo have the Garrett name cast into the housing?

Not to mention I told you to be hesitant on that turbo because they guy couldnt even describe what it really was. There is no such thing as a GT25/40R.... this turbo according to the part number is a GT2876R. It is smaller then a GT3071R! Garrett says at the very most it will make 450crank hp.

Yes, I know. I need a turbo so for the price, it will do me fine IF the compressor wheel isn't damaged. If it is, all bets are off.

If its too small, oh well. It will get me by for this year or next. At this point, I don't care anymore, I just want a running van. Summer is ticking away. :(

Please tell me you haven't sent money yet. That turbo is one of the infamous ebay "junk" turbos. It's either an xspower/ssautochrome "turbo charger" turbo. Or an XS Power/Turbo ZY "turbocharger" turbo.

If you look closely at the pictures you can see a raised area on the compressor housing where a tag should be. You can see that the seller removed the tag to try and hide the fact that it's a cheap chinese knock off.

Here are a couple of links to some writeups that I did on the 'quality turbos' these companies make.

Click this one first

I saw that but the housing is clean, no XS power. Also, XS power don't make DBB turbo's.

wow, taking a closer look at the pics, the blades really seem to be bent!
hope you can back out of the deal simon! too bad, the gt25/40r is a really nice turbo, quick spool-up while having a big compressor wheel.

we test fitted it on my friends ford cosworth, but he decided to go GT35R, so he sold it couple of months ago!

if you're going the DBB route you may check with Reinaldo, he's currently selling is GT30R (a known good turbo) ;)

I would love to buy Reinaldo's but I don't have $1200. This price was about the max I could afford right now.

My turbo will cost me about me $250-$300 to repair so I figured that would be an easy way out.

He is sending me pics and he called it a Garret/Precision turbo? either way, if it a real DBB and the comp wheel is fine, It will be a nice turbo.

Simon, I know you really want that turbo for some reason but.

Im quite sure thats an xs-power ssac turbo. I own one ;) I know what they look like.

The guy claims that cover is polished...ITS NOT.

xs-power turbos dont have to say that on them.

Also I willl bet its not even a fake garret. Its not DBB.
Its probably a KKK centersection with xspower garret style compressor cover and garret style turbine housing.

If the seller decides to send you new pictures, ask him to use a camera that stamps the date on the pictures. That way you will know that they are current pictures of the turbo etc. :eyebrows:

If he mentioned in the auction that it was damaged it would be totally different, but since he is obviously trying to pull a fast one, I would tell ebay that you just want to cancel the auction for false advertisement or something and no way give this dude a dime.
