Ok boys and girls, new site so new info, who's tried what and how did you like them. Also post sizes and what car/van you have ran them on.

I need to start saving for slicks so I need info on what to buy and sizes. Obviously, I am looking for slicks to mount on my van.

24.5" M&H's, you wouldn't regret them one bit.

Or if you wanted to go for simplicity the 23" M&H's, just because they fit so easily.

+1 on the M&H... But the MT's have gotten better. More stick than they used to have. Do not get anything smaller than the 23". 24.5's are a great slick... With a 555 tranny, they are good to 122mph in 4th @ 6k rpm. The 23's are at 111mph at 6k

I am using M&H 23x7.5's and they work really well. With the increased mods over the winter I am thinking about maybe going to the 23"x8.5" M&H.

They say the 24.5 is for a 7inch wide rim-any one run them on a 6 inch rim as thats all I have?

yeah that's one of the reasons why most people don't use the 24.5's, plus they usually need a little bit of spacing so they don't rub.

that's wider rubber than I would want to put on a 6" rim. I haven't heard of anyone squeezing them on a stock sized rim.

How about a 6.5" crab wheel? Would that work?

I run MT's, 24.5 x 8 x 13", on stock 5.5" wide k car steelies.

5 spd, with no burnout, as I have frozen ebrake cables. Just a quick spin to clean them off is all I ever do.

rev to 3500, hold it there, start to let out clutch, and once car starts to move, full throttle. They squeal all the way thru 1st, but the 1.8 short times don't lie.

M&H 24.5 X 8.5 X 15 - I love them but might go to 26's.

On the Z, 2.2L/A-555(3.85:1), 4500-5000 rpm launches (no sidestepping) consistent 1.8 60's with a best of a 1.70, all of them spinning thru 1st and most into 2nd. Have run ~130mph in 4th gear looking for redline to complete the data log after the lights.

On the Shadow, 2.2L/A-520(3.50:1) 4500-5000 rpm launches (no sidesteppng) consistent 1.85 60's, on a well prepard track it hooks in 1st. Consistet 13.00's at 104-105mph with plenty of rpm left in 4th.

Wow, not bad, 77 inch overall, and they can be mounted on a 6 inch rim. Too bad they won't clear my brakes.

yeah I know. I had to go 9" vented k car brakes , and took my SLH stuff off.

Yes Simon, the 23x7.5's will fit a 6" rim- I called M&H on this before I bought mine last year. Also I just called them about using the 23x8.5" on a 7" rim and they said that would work too.

I had a set of 26x6x15 M&Hs on my Neon. Way too tall for that car. Good rubber though.

Ended up running 22x8x13s M/Ts on it mounted on Kiezers. The M&Hs seemed stickier to me.

For this year, I have a set of 20x6x14 M/Ts mounted on stock Neon steelies I'll be trying on either the Daytona or the CSX (unless I trade it this weekend, and then it will be with the Lancer Shelby. :D)

Are there any spacing issues? I am thinking about getting that size for the CSXT, using its 15x6.5 wheels for now. I am going with the SLH 11" brakes too.

The 15x8 bogarts fit my shadow well with the caliper anti-rattle clips removed. it sits low on MP road race springs too. I dont have 11" brakes on the car yet, but dry fit them to a set of fronts I have and they seened to fit ok.

I went 120 with the 23.5's at SDAC 13 before the one blew out crossing the finish line! The old 2.2 was turning some revs there!
