Okay, I need to adapt a 1985 carbed GLH harness to use a 3 wire nippendenso alternator.

The GLH harness has 2 small wires that I assume correspond to the 2 small wires on the nippendenso... does their orientation make a difference??

The GLH harness has 1 large wire that corresponds to the large red wire on the nippendenso.

The GLH harness then has one more large wire. I have no idea where it goes or what it does. What can I do with it??

I am using a neon 3 wire nippendenso alternator if it makes any difference.

Your help is appreciated.

what color are the 2 big wires?

I believe both are red. They're both real dirty... I'll try to get a pic up tonight.

the 2 small should be feild wires, I beleive it doesnt matter which goes where, atleast that is what I have read, the 2 big wires has me curious, more than likley one goes to battery and the other goes up into the harness maybe to the fuse box or something, do you have a multimeter you can test them?

It's not on the car, so I have no idea.

The other large wire on the '85 GLH harness is a ground wire (at least on mine). Continuity/voltmeter test to be sure.

Why not find a TD nippodenso alterantor? Everything will be plug and play.

I don't think it will fit into my neon alternator bracket on my 2.4 block. Maybe it will. I'll have to look.

I looked at a parts diagram and it looks the same, but of course I cant tell dimensions
