2.5 turbo in a MR2

A friend of my son has a Toyota MR2 with no engine that I can get just for hauling off, and I have a rebuilt and slightly massaged 2.5t1/413 looking for a home. I know this will be major meatball surgery and is going to require lots of fabrication but the thought driving what is basiclly a 250+hp turbocharged go-cart:eyebrows:
What do you guys think?

Thats what I'm talking about. I know where I can get a fiero that needs an engine for cheap. Lets do a couple mid engine swaps using MOPOWER and show em what its all about!

i knew i shoulda just mopard my 88 mr when the motor blew two days after i bought it... noooo instead i tryed to swap motors, well ,head oil pump and everything to a diff motor.. and gave up and junked it

DO IT! I always thought it would be cool to have a mid engine,rwd mopar. I always though about doing it to a 91 MR2, but a 88 would still be really cool.:thumb:

I have a video at home where some guy made a mid engine RWD Honda CRX with a turbo mopar engine.

How about MopaR2. I think the most difficult part of this swap will be the electrics and getting custom half shafts made. Bolting the engine and tranny in should not be a problem. I am thinking that a smec would be the easist to wire up.

thats funny.. my girl has an 85 MR2 and we just rebuilt the engine... I doubt she would go for this though..... :evil:
