Hello SDAC and non-SDAC members!

I have not cleared this with Barry, but I do not think it will be a problem.

I once again will donate a NEW 90 or 120 Amp Nippendenso Alternator (Your Choice) to one lucky winner.
Only catch is you have to be Pre-Registered.

Deadline is JUNE 1.

The last time I did this Dean Stille was the winner, YES, I will ship to Canada!

Here is how it works.
1) You Pre-register
2) Barry has numbers assigned to each pre-registration.
3) Awards night, someone will draw a number from those pre-registered.
4) Winner does NOT need to be present to win!
5) I will ship (at my expense) a NEW alternator for whatever Turbo Mopar vehicle you wish.

So there you have it boys and girls, now go pre-register!!

Oh, one more thing. If you are not a current SDAC member and are thinking of joining do it NOW! Must be SDAC member to win!

Thanks for your generosity once again Bryan!!

There is only one problem. Pre-registration is not open yet. LOL

To our members, I am hoping to have a newsletter in your mailboxes within the next couple weeks. A Pre-registration form should be in it.

Online Pre-registration should open about the same time.

Barry,

You are more than welcome!

I did change the cut-off to JUNE 1.
Hopefully that works!

Russ Jerome has added an item to be given away in this Pre-registration promotion. It is a custom one piece intake that has a 3.5" tube plenum replacing the stock one.

The alternator and the intake, from Bryan and Russ, will be separate drawings so there will be 2 winners now!

I can't pre-register, 'cause I can only make it for the weekend. I have my room reserved for Saturday night, though.

We have 49 folks pre-registered as of June 1. Only those folks will be entered into the drawing.

But Pre-registration for SDAC-17 is still open. Please note that mailed in registrations should be mailed by June 12, and online registration will be open until June 20. And of course folks may register once on site.

How many are we up to now and how many are racing?

How many are we up to now and how many are racing?

52 registered, 18 drag racing.

But other than the pre-registration lagging a little, the numbers don't mean a lot. There is no way to predict what will happen with the onsite regs. A good sign is that we have 75 rooms reserved at the Days Inn.

Is that a record Barry?

Is that a record Barry? For drag racing it almost is. Only at SDAC-11 in Canada where overall attendance was low was the drag racing pre-reg lower.

We are at 90 pre-registered overall (with one day to go) which is average to above average. A couple of them only had 75 pre-regs, and SDAC-12 busted the chart with 122 pre-regs. SDAC-15, our most successful financially, had 99 pre-regs.

We better get a refund on the drag fee though if we don't get enough cars. The nearly $4600 fee has been fully paid and we only have 23 cars. Do the math for what our current cost per car is. :(

I expect we will get another 15 cars or so to drag race from onsite registrations, maybe more. If we get 40 then I am pretty sure he will adjust our fee. And if the staging lanes are empty at 4pm, we will cut the day short by an hour like we did at SDAC-14.

Are we drag racing for sure, though? I mean, is there a chance it will be cancelled and monies refunded?

C'mon PEOPLE. Sign up!

Are we drag racing for sure, though? I mean, is there a chance it will be cancelled and monies refunded? Not a chance it will be canceled. PRP required a 50% non-refundable deposit and the rest paid a week prior to the event. So even if there are only a dozen to show up, they will get plenty of runs in. :thumb:

So who won the alternator and the intake?

sdac guy
06-28-2007, 08:41 PM
Thanks for asking, I forgot to post it earlier when I brought my notes in from the car.

Kelly Gomer won the alternator. I will send Bryan his contact info and address.

Jim Edick of 89 Shelby Dakota JIMSTRUK fame won the intake. Now Jim has never had a 2.2 vehicle and is the original owner of his Dak. So he wasn't very enthused about it. Scott Lasky offered to buy it from him and made Jim an offer he couldn't refuse. :D Jim donated a portion of the money from the sale to SDAC.

Cool! Im glad it went to use and kicked back to the SDAC.
Its was simply a project I started for someone yrs ago and
never finished after they went away from FWD TD's.

Maybe next yr we could just make a bunch of stuff folks
can bid on or buy, proceeds would go back to the SDAC.

*Slasky: I didnt port the TB, left it up to the new owner.
I rough honed out the lower runners, dont think there are
any gains by porting the lower half more it actualy has better
runners than the 2-piece stock at the boss's for bolts.

I am running a stock TB so that is ok. The only thing i was thinking about doing to it is gasket matching the runners. What do you think? By the way you do very nice work.
