Anyone ever took an exotic yet?

i know of some kid that almost took a Ferrari in his 2 door neon 2.4 turbo swap done know much about the car but he was pulling on him then his trans exploded. has any one beat something alongs the lines of some exotic car in a td yet? id love to hear about someone doing it in an omni.

Hard to understand your writing, but Dempsey Bowling has a great story keeping stride with a Lambo in his lightly modified GLH-T. Supposedly, it was a new or used car dealer with a potential buyer taking it for a test drive with the salesman in the passenger seat. Salesman looked pi$$ed.

Not an exotic... but Gary Donovan's story is one of the funniest to me... his old Daytona (not the '89) was coming back from a Sears after buying a washing machine. The washer barely fit in the hatch and the hatch was open, but tied down. I can't remember specifics, but it involved a 5.0 and his buddies getting spanked by a Turbo Z on the highway with a washer in the trunk basically.

Gus Mahon used to play around on the roads of CT. In his neck of the woods, there are more Porsches and BMWs, etc... than what I am used to. I remember him telling me about some Porsches trying to tail him on the back roads, and Gus even being able to leave them going through the corners in his Acclaim (aka: Slugmobile... 12.2 second car in the 1/4)

I've had a go with a Lamborghini Gallardo, short romp on the blvd heading to the hwy on ramp, I'm sure I shocked the heck out of him by hanging with him, getting on a 3 lane hwy, him in front, my friend checks the traffic, 1 car in the middle just in front of us, clear behind, we hit it in 3rd, he takes the right lane around the car, I go deep to the left lane & JUST edge up to his side & he gets off the gas & thats it, no faster than 110mph, it was close :thumb:

I've walked 911(s) non turbo, a C5 Vette, an E46 M3 & hung with several 700/750cc sport bikes, all on the hwy :eyebrows:

I got smoked off the line by a stage II I think they called it turbo 944. I was slowly reeling him in in 3rd and 4th, but he took off on me hard. We were both at a light after playing cat and mouse. He doesn't pull up next to me at this double lane light which turns into a single lane about 1/8th mile up ahead. Instead, he stops a car length behind me. I'm watching the light and looking back to see where he is and what the heck he'; doing, then BAM... light goes green and he shoots by and I gun it only to do the fwd 1-2 spin dance. Hit 3rd and he's not pulling, hit 4th and I am gaining just a bit and he lets off as he was a few lengths ahead. I met him a year later and he was a real pompus arse. "Oh..you never would have beaten me if i stayed into it...etc..." He was a rich doctor and blabbed about that as well.

After a little research on my part of the 944 turbo...and this one was the
T-II version of a 944 turbo, I don't think my car should have been pulling back on him as at the time, I was running just the stock VNT cal as my performance cal was being revamped.

So... I lost to a 944 turbo S2. After I got the revised cal, I did beat bigger and badder cars on the street, but no "exotics" of any sort. I wanted to re-run him so bad though post revised cal;)

I was heading up to my friends ex-girlfriends house about 100 miles North of me I think before a concert or something. It was about 4 or 5 years ago. I had my Girlfriend(soon to be wife), my friend Kyle aka Sexygomer and luggage. Anyway it was nice sunny day. I see a mid 90's LT1 Corvette speeding up to behind me really quickly on the highway we are on. He went by but he slowed down a bit so it gave me time to catch up. So when he went around me we both hit it about the same time. I got around him after the first run but when we were on the gas we were dead even. The next run we took it to 140+ from 60 mph and he couldn't get around me. I started a car in front of him and he just couldn't pass me! My Girlfriend wasn't too happy but Gomer was so excited. I was bit nervous because I never drove that fast before and a Spirit Rt isn't the most stable car in the world. The guy in the Corvette gave me thumbs up so in my book he was kewl. I also raced a mid 90's RX7, LT4 1997 Camaro SLP, Mid 80's vette and a mid 60's 427 Corvette. I lost to a 300zx twin turbo in my 1989 Daytona Shelby but my shelby was very slow when I owned it:(. I have no idea how I kept on getting into races. One night I got into 3 with my friends following me. One guy got mad and kept going after I slowed down. Well down the street he was pulled over and we just kept on driving by:eyebrows:

That's as exotic as it ever got for me.

BTW I ran a z06 in my Cobra one time but I know that doesn't count in this forum,lol.

When I was driving my Shelby Charger I seamed to find quite a few races with Boxer S's. One time after beating one on the highway he pulled into a battle of the imports at RT66 behind me and looked pissed off and would not look over at me but his buddy in the pass seat was all grins and pointing at my car... :D

Wound up running doorhandle to doorhandle with a Cadillac CTS-V in my basically stock (full 3" pipe, no cat) IROC R/T last fall. Came off a traffic light with me not intending to race. But, he went for it and I decided to as well. Ran for approx 1/2 mile. Guy didn't seem too happy his $50K Caddy couldn't beat a peeling paint 4 banger Daytona, LOL...

I have played with Porshe's, BMW's and Lexus's on the street. At the track, I beat an M3, RX7's, turbo'd cars, my favourite kills are modded Skylines, :lol: :thumb:

What did the new Z06 run? I've hear of these going 11.2@127 on stock tires and 10.9 on drag radials. You must have one fast charger! I wouldn't have a chance in my pullied 03 cobra,lol. Those new Z06's also pick up modifications to get them into the deep 10's without fuss. I want one!

Yeah I was at the track a couple of nights ago and there was two pullied 03-04 mustang cobra's that couldn't break a 14.2,lol. One actually ran in the 15's in his 460whp pullied Cobra. I guess some cars need the driver mod! I wish my spirit rt was running so I could of ran one of these guys,lol! I guess 12's in a zo6 isn't that bad because they are probably tricky to launch right on street tires.

Every time he got a little sideways he let off. He did that 3 or 4 times in first and second every pass. It was his first time at the track with it and he just got it recently.

I once beat a Saleen S281 in my old Shadow ES (2.5L TII). At the light I asked him if it was the supercharged model, he said no, but seemed pretty ----y about it and didn't want to talk, just laid back in his seat and looked continued staring ahead. Light turned green and I went for broke....he tried to keep up and did OK but wasn't able to get any ground from a dig up to around 70-80 MPH. After that, he hung back and was going under the speed limit to keep away from me.

I played with a Ferrari Testarossa one night leaving a cruise-in. I dunno if that counts tho. It was a 1987 and they were mid 14 second cars if memory serves. A stock GLH-T would give those Eye-talian cars a run for their money.

Testarossa's....great looking cars but yeah, most of them there performance was hurting.

I don't know about the 87's but I know the 86's were good for mid-13's. Still not that great for the type of car it was meant to be.

Sweet my buddy turned 12.5@114 stock on street tires in his 2002 zo6. Now he thinking about putting twin turbos on it. He's done full exhaust and tune. It should run in the 11's as we speak. Those cars move. Good run ken!

They do ok down low on street tires but they need slicks or Drs to actually get a good 60' time. Aerodynamics and weight play a big factor in their high trap speed. They make about 355whp stock. I held my own against a 2003 z06 when my mustang was stock but the zo6 pulled up in the top end. 113 stock traps vs my 109-110 traps that day. I was dead even until after 1000' mark on the dragstrip. Now I trap 117 on street tires so I think I might be able to get one. Maybe some Drag radials will give me a little bit more of an edge. There is a gray one running 116mph and 11.9's here in Cincy with drag radials. It sounds like it has some exhaust work done to it though.

There are some skylines running around winnipeg too. I ran into an unbelievably nice black one yesterday. Was full on a bunch of kids wearing their hats sideways and checking out my tona. They gave it a little when they saw me, but they didnt turn when I turned. I will find them again though:evil:
