Rob Pachner did. SC's and Omni's have the exact same engine bay.

Sure, the engine bays are the same... but if you're concerned about space, that huge nose on an sc or page gives you alot more options.

Huge +1 here. Looking at Aaron Miller's Charger compared to my omni, I am quite envious of the nose for the ability to more easily stuff a huge IC in the car. It was a reall doozie to get the Spearco in my omni. I would immagine a 2.4 transplant would be equally helped out by the space.

Although Russ Jerome has managed to cram quite a bit under the hood of his omni...

I'm 6'2", and the omni was cramped until I put in SC seat rails for the driver's seat. The 1" lower seat rails helped a LOT. It feels like there is so much more room.

Find the lower seat rails; they are awesome. Even for us folks of more normal stature.

I am custom lowering a set of Omni seat rails to see how low I can get it. The SC's are 1 inch lower in the back only if I recall... what about the front? I also have a solution for the extra front fascia space needed.

As stated by Ken, the underhood space is identical.

As for Russ stuffing a lot of things underhood... more like, lots of things are sticking OUT of the hood.

The SC seat rails are 1" lower in the front and the rear. The 1" makes a lot of difference too.

Yep, at 6'3", with my helmet on there is 1/8" between the roof glass and the helmet. Thankfully I have the sunroof!!

I had a patch worn off the head liner where my head rubbed on my charger. The head room is one nice thing about the omni for sure.

Frank K's posts about Garrett's Air/Water ICs made me dream about one of those sitting on top of the transaxle in an Omni. The air from compressor outlet to valve would bend 90* only 4 times! And, go much less distance.

I'm 6' 1" and 280. In 1985 I bought my GLHT precisely because of the head room!
