View Full Version : Opinions on PG posies?

I need some opinions on phantom grip posi units. I know it's not a full grip posi, but it's relatively inexpensive and better than stock. I want to know for sure if it's okay to bust out some 1.9 60's in a 3,000 lb fatty. Will it damage the differential at all? How is it for hooking up? Does it allow both tires to spin in during a burnout?

Anything else I should wonder about? Also where can I buy one of these??

Any tips or considerations of other posies would be helpful.

Thanks,
-Bryan

They are a waste of time IMO. Get a OBX off of ebay. I recall somone getting one for about $250 off of there. They are a quaife knock off, and supposedly really strong.

They PG is just not going to cut it long term, and last I checked they were about $250.

I ran the PG in my daytona for a while, it generally sucked and made the launch very inconsistant. It never spun both at the same time(unless on ice but being cali that doesn't happen very ofter) and was a general waste of time. I didn't even bother sticking it in the new trans I swapped into it a while back.

I have one. Basically a waste of money. I dug it at first, helped with corner exit traction in my relatively low-powered GLHt, but it seemed to lose effectiveness as it wore in (out), and it didn't help out the one-wheel-peel.

Dave,

Will the OBX work in a 413?
