Has anyone seen this car in person? Does it still exist? Know where its located?
Its supposed to be an AWD VNT and have 17x9.5 rims! I might just have to hack up my car and build a wide body tona;)

Never in person, but I have seen pictures of it from an early 90's Detroit Auto Show in a SDAC-GL member's photo album. :thumb:

........if only chrysler let shelby go wild and build what he wanted

shelby had been looking at building a 16v AWD since 87

I feel pretty confident that the daytona sales in 90 would not have plumetted if THAT Daytona had been released. Granted.. it probably would have been fine if they hadn't changed the body style/engines too. :(

It sure is a shame that car never was brought to production. It's even more of a shame that they destroyed the car. :(

if they would had released an AWD 16v DOHC turbo car it probably would had ended up being just like a DSM in sales and popularity

That Daytona pretty much just became the Stealth.

It would have been a great car.Speaking of the allwheel drive has any one looked in to the all wheel drive A-604 and how the transfercase bolts on.We had a pacifica in the shop the other day with the trans out of it and it looked simple.

The AWD version of the A-604 (41TE) and the Pacifica's new 62TE six speed auto isn't strong enough to handle the high horsepower and boost launches even if you hacked up a Daytona enough to get the AWD system in there.
