question regarding some light mods to these engines. I wanted to know what kind of power i would see if i:
3" cat back (3"cat)
S1 lonewolf cams
ported exhaust mani
boost set at 14psi

Going from an 8V to 16V is a big difference and i just wanted to know what light mods would put out on these engines and if i should go ahead and get a cal or not:thumb:

thanks

Very noticable. You will be amazed how any mods help these motors. They are just dying to be uncorked! It would be a good idea to upgrade the intercooler if you are running anything more than the stock boost, otherwise looks like a nice list.

On your list I would say 3" exhaust and boost/fuel first, no cams or cal needed for 'basic' mods.

Stock ---- can go pretty damn fast on an 8V, I'm sure a 16V would be similar, here is my 12-second 'stock' 8V build:

The T-III runs lean, So 42 pph (+40) injectors should be considered.......

Ya,I was gonna say if you have Lonewolf cams and some porting done I would pick up some +40s and a 3 bar. Then you run into the problem of the stock turbo running out of steam at high RPMs. So,I would save your money and get a 50trim hybrid, that is like a wake-up call for a TIII:thumb:

Anyhow,if Wallace's #s are correct I would say 275ish at 14 PSI with what you have. I know with 3 bar goodies, front mount, and a hybrid you will be looking at 350WHP:D

get rid of the cat. put in a swap pipe after the aircare test.

i HATE poping so i cat is a must...i may get a warlock muffler to boot.

regarding the intercooler: Of course! the stock cooler gets REAAALLLY hot with out any mods so im sure it would be alot worse with these mods.

the cams have to get reground, so i thought i might as well go ahead and get a performance grind...im suprised though that i may need larger injectors even though i'd still be under at stock boost setting. So i guess if im getting the cams i have to get the cal?

Opppps, +20 is 42 pph, +40 is 53 pph. Either way a cal is a good ideal with the extra airflow........
