this is a message to Brian, Andre, and Cindy,

My project is almost complete and I just wanted to say thank you for all the help, knowledge, and parts. Brian has the car running great. it feels very strong at the very little boost it is running now.
Andre, your intake manifold, head, and exhaust manifold was a work of art. Cindy computer is almost spot on, can't wait for the revision, and brian your fabrication, patiance, and install have been nothing short of amazing, can't wait to see what happens when we turn up the boost.

Hey All, per Chris's request, here are some shots of his car as it sits. Thank you Chris for the kind words. I agree that the car will be a different animal when the boost is brought up(can't wait).

Actually, it is just awaiting a filter to be put on the end. It does look like it goes straight down though;)

what header are you running, i'm leaning towards TBI header but i cant tell.

just8av8

that is what i am running...had to run something that moved the turbo down because of the intake manifold

gotcha, i thought i had read something about you making your own, manifold?

andre hand made the intake manifold and did the head porting...he also ported the snot out of the tbi header and did the flange

About the fuel pressure regulator (the blue one) Is it a rising rate, if so, how's it adjusted, replaceable springs or bleed like the Cartechs?

That engine bay looks all business! Nice set up guys:thumb:

So have you driven it yet? .63 AR I'd assume on the 35R? Is it in the ported shroud S cover? I'm curious how it acts on a 2.2 car with that runner length and that header.

what fuel pressure are you running on that?

The regulator is an Accufab 1:1 we weren't looking to do any messing with bleeds or the like.

I have driven it a few times. The car feels like a car with a larger than stock turbo, of course, but still responsive. Once calibration tweaking is done, I feel it will only be better, since EGT's haven't broken 1300deg. at WOT, it is still pretty rich. It feels very sweet for the current boost level-11psi. The turbo is a .63 AR/35R but does not have the ported shroud cover. Surge is a non-issue to this point.

Interesting stuff, thanks for the update. Estimated full boost point when completed? How about peak torque, have a feeling of where it might be? I only ask because those intake runners are awfully short. Did Andre mention what the plenum volume is?

fuel pressure is set at 60psi

That seems like an awful lot of base pressure for a 72pph cal. Remember that if you now run up near 30 psi you have 90 psi in the rail, something a walbro fuel pump will not be happy with. 255 HP pumps lose volume drastically above 70-75 psi IIRC. Just a reminder! ;)

I would say in the 25+ range for full boost w/ race gas. And mid 20's on pump gas. Once the car is strapped down on a dyno, we will know concrete numbers. It is hard to say but I think that 400+ should be attainable with the combo. I'm unsure about plenum volume but maybe Andre could chime in.

I guess I should've worded that a bit clearer. I was more curious as to an RPM range that it feels/acts like it's going to come into full song at once the tune has been dialed in. Any guestimates?

It's also quite amazing to me that w/o the surge housing you're not having any problems. I was under the presumption that a 35R would be a bit out of reach of a streetable 8V car, especially that of a 2.2 car, but perhaps I was mistaken.

For torque, I think it will happen somewhere around 4600-4900... just my guess. I don't think you were mistaken about the surge point with the 35R. I was wondering as well if there would be an issue with the non-ported housing, but to this point, surge is not apparent.
