timing belt cover

mine is all cracked, busted. can i run my 2.2 carb rampage w/o it? ive seen guys running motors w/o. pros vs cons???????? thnx................ss

I've run without my timing belt covers for years. Some people say debris gets in there and can tear up your timing belt etc. I've never had any problems. I'm just VERY careful when I'm fooling around under the hood while the engine is running.
