Anyone have any ideas on how or where to put them? I will do it just for sh*ts and giggles, they sure can't hurt, :thumb:

How do you know they can't hurt? Secondly it is a penta head, not a swirl head. Leave it alone. Just clean up the head... remove burs and casting marks.... that will do wonders.

Dont drink the snake oil.

+1 to what he said. I would put money on the fact that Stephane does not have any "slashes" in the T3 head on the SMP/FWD charger!

I'm not sold on the slashes anyway! The quench area on our setups are not close enough for them to do anything at all in my opinion. If on a tight quench NA setup, then maybe. But I would have to see before and after tests even then.

There you go Simon thinking about doing things that probably won't work real well. Like the above and running a T3 with an 8V cal. From what I've seen, the T3 (pent roof chamber) reqires less ignition timing advance than even a swirl head. If things are different on the cal decision I take it back. :thumb:

Simon, there are a couple of guys adding a single slash to each of the squish pads on similar heads. They are claiming the benefits the Grooves are known for. Put them slightly off from straight across from the middle along the gasket to just left of center (then turn it up-side-down and repeat).

Another consideration while you're in there is to round the edges of the squish pad as per:

http://fueleconomytips.com/2006/12/27/%e2%80%9cedging%e2%80%9d-ahead/

Between the two things you can have a detonation proof head. If you carry the Edging theme to the pistons, the sharp edges along the inside rim should be smoothed away as well.

Im with you on this. Just round the edges and clean up any flash cast/mold marks.

Sorry just tired of answering the question, everybody assumes for some reason that I am not getting a cal, I have posted that I am numerous times.

Mike, have you grooved 16v heads already?

Yes. Larry's Saturn, a 1.8 Toyota Matrix, and an SRT-4 Hybrid head.
