What should I do to adapt a holset hy35 turbo to my 3" exhaust?

I would cut off the elbow that is currently there, weld on a cast iron 90 (use the schedule 40 that people use for manifolds) then cut the --- end off of a 2.25" swingvalve and weld it back onto the 90, after opening it up as much as possible. Until the turbo is hanging in the car, theres no way to be sure this would work. You would have to play with it for sure, maybe use part of a 45 to make the angle just right to line up with the dp, but it should be possible.

depends on the Holset. What year and so on. The early ones are easy, just a flang. The mid years are a cut and paste, the current years are different again with a 4 3/8" flang.

My '01 HY35 has a 3" flange on it stock.. Facing the wrong way, so I'll have to cut and re-weld.. but saved me some hassle I guess.

This one has what looks like ALMOST a 90^ cast iron bend in it that is held on with a V band clamp. Not 100% sure on the size.

Nope, not a V-band.. Has what looks like a 5 bolt flange.. Can't rotate it at all. I need to grab it and snap a couple pictures sometime..
