common bastards! someone has to know what it is...i loops from a relay input to ground, so i don't think it's a fusible link or resister...so wtf is it?

the long black rectangular shaped device that has two wires coming out of it, both going back to the connector...is this enough? it's in the very middle of the picture.

well, one side goes directly to a ground...a ground from starter relay, and a ground to the tranny, the other side appears to be a ground as well, one ground to the back up switch and other end of the lead goes back into the firewall...

could you give us a clue as to what car it is? Where it is in the harness, year make model? You'll get a better answer

it doesn't matter what year or make...you see the pick and the block, if you don't know what it is fine...and I said where it is in the harness...and at this point fugk it, i already wired it in the way it's gonna go, so it's done...the whole point of this is that I'm making a harness from near scratch.

you want more detals that won't help you give me a worthwhile answer? 164 megaOhms of resistance across it and it's a diode that signals from the transmission ground, going to the white wire from the backup light switch.

And if you leave the diode out, You will short the fan fuze everytime. It is the ground going to the trans on all cars. The diode Must be there or like I said, you will blow the fan,.
