OK, JK, but they were looking for some shots of this head on another forum and they don't let me put up any decent sized pics there:(

Notice the same blue carpet as in Todd's pic?:D No socks though...

Just like Bigfoot... this is the famous, yet elusive Hans Herman/ Shelby 16v head for the 2.2. The predecessor to the 16v Lotus and 16v Masi heads. The one they should have gone with.

The owner wanted to get a better look at the ports so he cut it up! I kid, I kid. :D Okay to have another beer iturbo, It's a two piece. Yes, it is way different than a Lotus 16V. The combustion chamber is sort of close though, at least compared to the Cosworth chamber. The HH head used flat top pistons and had a 7.5 CR! The Cosworth head needed a -47cc dish on their piston to achieve approx. the same CR. Valvetrain is close to Cosworth design, or should I say Cosworth is close to HH design? Or would you believe VW? Seems logical that they should have put this convertible head on the convertible TC.:p Think of it as the grandpa of the 2.2 16V's. Grandpa is looking good in his old age.

I've been going to a bunch of swapmeets lately:D Naw, it's a friends head another 16V Masi guy. Of course has a few very nice 8V cars too, next race he is going to give Boyd a real challenge for the California fastest Omni crown:eyebrows: Our plan is to complete it with all the required valvetrain to run and then probably just caress it...
