Nice choice. Personally I'd LOVE a Buick Regal GS as a daily driver. Keepin the eyes peeled as they don't seem to be overly common....

Yeah it has the perfect sleeper look already. A light tint on the windows and they will never know your hair isn't platinum.

Easy there, I just turned 28. And I've had my eye out for a few years. I'd love a cushy grampa car as a driver. And a cheap one that runs 14's stock, sounds good to me! I settled on the Spirit. Just as grampa, little less cushy, and not quite as quick.....stock ;)

+1

I'm 28 years from retirement, and would prefer the old guy's Buick... It's Buick's engine either way so:p

Nice looking GTP, What year is it?

The wife's ride is an 98 Grand Prix GT. It as been a very good family car for us. Fairly easy to work on under the hood too.

GTP is a fun car. Nice and full torque range, too.

If you get the chance, you should check out www.clubgp.com, see if there's anyone in your area with a pulley puller, and do the 3.4 swap. Really 'wakes up' the car, but doesn't really hurt longevity too much. The swap and a k&n drop in, or better yet a cone is a nice little upgrade. The airbox on those cars is made to reduce the supercharger noise, which as we all know means restrictive. A lot of people just drill holes in the back side of the filter box too. Call it swiss cheese or some such.

Someone pulled out in front of mine when I was doing 50 and I t-boned them w/o pushing the brakes a few years back. Totalled the car since the airbags and such went off. It was an '00 about 2 years back and i think the insurance co. gave me ~16k for it.

Mike, as for your contract, NONE will cover the exhaust as that is considered a maintance item......

How many miles are on it ????

Believe it or not you change the oil in the Supercharger every 50k---get it done. Also change the fuel filter every 25k and flush the transmission fluid at 50k.

Regards
Chuck

Yeah. www.gmpartsdirect.com is a great place for stuff for those cars.

The supercharger oil is easy to change, but kind of stinky. Buy 2 bottles for a complete change, and use a siphon to suck out the old and then jsut pour in the new.

The upgraded sway bars GM make are a pretty good upgrade, and relatively easy to change.

These cars do GREAT with stereos....there's some good guys on the car electronics section @ clubgp.com

PS - I think the supercharger oil is supposed to be done 36k...at least thats what I was told.

What weight oil does the charger use?

Subliminal

It uses GM Supercharger oil. Grab it from the link I provided in the last post.

I guy I work with has the supercharger pulley puller when your
ready to get serious.;)
He had a GS, with exhaust cutout and smaller pulley he went like 13.80's.
We could never figure out how to limit the weight transfer.
He would leave on idle, and slowly push down on the gas pedal.
Damn independent rear suspension.

Have you hung the little pepper from the rear view yet??

The supercharger oil isnt hard to change. 2 or my friends have 3800 SC cars. One has a 97 GS and other has a 98 GTP. If you like smaller forums I would look into "regalgs.org". They are really nice there and all very knowledgeable about these cars. I would look into a CAI and a PCM. The CAI makes the super chager sound ungodly. My friend has one on his GTP and man it sounds like a girl is in the passenger's seat yelling when you mash it.
