View Full Version : Found 2 2.4 DOHC Engines in Junkyard

Is anyone interested in these? I went to look for omni parts and remembered Boost_Geek saying they had one and they were right around the other old dodges. I might be able to go tomorrow morning, or else next weekend. Not sure if they will be there next weekend or not, but they could be.

you should put a 2.4 DOHC in your GLH cept run it with 4 sport bike carbs

I could probably get 4 Holley carbs from omnis in there :p

Not up for a hybrid engine right now with too much else on the go and not enough money, just seeing if anyone wants them.

There's also a first gen neon twin cam engine there, which head is better, the 2.0 or 2.4?

I didn't look for the Neon, just saw the 2 2.4s. I've been informed the 2.4's are harder to pull. They'd have to be next weekend.

If the 2.4's are hard to pull, I wanna play with a 2.0. I pulled it in less time than it takes to pull a 2.2/2.5 head. Most PITA part was the cam covers. Nice to see they didn't change EVERYTHING from our old motors :p

Casting-wise, from 1995- at least 1999 the 2.0l dohc and the 2.4l dohc are the exact same. Different cams, all else is the same.

Jason find out a price and give me a call i might be interested in one or at least a good valve cover, and i got that cam for you from my buddies TBI and i got the roller followers and lifters for it. thanks man

they have dohc heads there all the time. Wait for there head sale its like 50 for the head. I bought a head the whloe top end minus fuel rail because i forgot it and no exhaust manifold for under 100.

50 is on sale? Wow, that's insane. When I was in the interior the 2Valve per cylinder heads were 30 regular, and 3/4 valve per cylinder heads were 50. On sale was half.

And then they charge you for valve cover, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, fuel rail, injectors, cams, valves, springs, seals, keepers.... Ok, ok I'm getting carried away. but thats what it seems like sometimes with those places....

buy 2 1st gen neon acr's or rt's and upgrade them to 2.4's!!!
