I was all ready to order a set of centerline storms direct from centerline for 159$ each, but did some poking around and found them from jegs for 409$ shipped, just thought i give everyone the heads up on this good deal before its too late:

I know summit had a similar sale at the begining of jan, but have since switched their price back to 159$ a wheel.

Those look really nice. I wonder what "extremely light-weight" is exactly.

I've heard rumors that they're not quite as light as you would be lead on to believe. This could be entirely wrong though. To me for a 17" to be called extremely lightweight it's gotta be in the sub 15 lb category.

They are right at 15 lbs. I weighed one of mine on our shipping scale at work. The stock SRT-4 wheel was 22 lbs. boxed.

thats awesome. the 17x8 asa wheels for the daytona are 17lbs. of course the ones on there now are 30lbs.

did anyone see that the 15 cost more per rim

Yeah. That's odd. Maybe they just put one size on sale.

I'm trying really hard to resist ordering these wheels. Would you buy these to sit around it boxes waiting for money to buy tires or would you buy a Zeitronix datalogger that you can use right now? Decisions, decisions.

Yeah, Centerline's Web site says they are overstocked on 17" wheels, so they've been on sale lately. I really want to get a pair of 15" Storms one of these days to mount slicks on. I'm hoping to catch them cheaper than they currently are, though.

I was looking into the Pirahna ones, Centerline's customer service rep quoted me 13lbs. for the 17x7.

Hey man, those wheels look great. Any idea on what model they are? How you think these might look on a Red Spirit RT?

Well it has taken some time to find the right model that will fit. They are the ASA AR1. You have to use an 2001 Audi TT in tire rack. They are only available in 17". You can get them at 7 and 8 inches wide. I am doing the later. It has a +35mm offset, however it still may need a 5-10mm offset.

Let me know how they fit with that offset.

Frank, how do the AR1 fit with that offset and width? I think these would look great on my Spirit R/T or Shelby Lancer!

They fit awesome! I would however go with the 245/40/17 wheel, not the 225/45/17 I got... it will keep the rim from getting scatched as they are definently smaller then the rim in width.

I have the 215/45/17 on my spirit and there is plenty of clearance and the height is the same as stock so my speedo is correct!

Those wheels look awesome Frank, that pic shows them better than your sig. Really goes well with the white car.

BTW, Corby showed me these, he uses them for his van, they fit 24.5 slicks with no spacers and are light-

i know this is old but for FYI purposes ill add that 17x8 with +35 offset DOES clear at least on the 91-up cars and i have no reason to think it wouldnt on the older ones.. i have 245/40s on mine and if i could do it again i would go 255/40.

also, if you want cheap, light wheels, check out FLIK wheels on edgeracing.com.. i got my 17x8s for i think 90 bucks a piece and they weighed 17 or 18lbs on my scale iirc. total weight of my flik FTD 17x8 and 245/40r17 GeneralExclaim UHP is 41 lbs... not exactly light but its a big tire. its the same weight as my 15x6 eggshells and 215/60r15s so no downsides there, heh. hell i have 205/50r15s on crabs and that weighs 39lbs so i consider my combo weight pretty good.

Yeah if I could do it over I would have bought those FLIK FTD wheels also, in black(these are teh best bang for the buck wheels). I have some 245/45/17 Nitto 555R DR's on 17x7.5" +35mm and they just clear w/ front coilovers.
