View Full Version : Wiring the Steering Column!

I'm redoing my 94 Shadow. I've got a 88 2.2 Turbo in her. I got the engine harness no brainer. Now when it comes to the dash and the column im lost. I thought about changing the steering rack and pinion and putting in the 88 steering wheel but i just dont want to go that route as i want this car finished without killing my wallet much more. does anyone know how to wire up the column from a 94 into an 88 harness?

Its a 5 speed if these helps. also is it possible to run my 94 dash harness with the 88 engine harness? just thought of that one *im smart*

I'm going through a similar situation with my convertible. I used a 91 turbo engine harness. It plugged into the under dash harness. a 90 harness almost works but you'd have to cut and splice the newer connectors under the dash and one black connector under the hood by the battery. Also theres no plug for the A/C compressor.

Does your 94 Shadow have a bulkhead connector on the firewall side?

Naw you're not in too bad of shape, you grabbed a good year of computer it's easily adaptable. Behind the driver's side strut tower on the fire wall, is there just a rubber grommet with wires going thru it, or is there a plug that is held in by a 10 or 8mm bolt?

Make your life a lot easier and get a 91-up harness and computer. It will take some searching, but there is no big customizing of the harness. Just get all the sensors and relays from the firewall that you can. Engine year isn't a big concern. I robbed an 89 Lebaron GTS of its drivetrain for my swap.

didnt dodge stop with the turbo engines(for shadows) in 91? I would like to find a shadow harness so that would help me if i knew when they stopped putting this engine is this car

That may be. I had to find one to use in my car, and that is what it came out of was a 91.
