Engine Codes for '96 Sebring 3.0 v6 Lxi

Aside from his TD, my brother also has a sebring that is causing him some problems and gave him fault codes 25 and 31.

Does any one know what these codes are. I have been looking at google and didnt find anything there.

The car is a '96 sebring Lxi, 3.0 v6, auto.

The listing I have lists mutliple possibilities for the codes, but here goes.

For fault code 25

Idle Air Control Motor Circuits -- A shorted or open condition detected in one or more of the idle air control motor circuits.

Target Idle Not Reached ( +- 300) -- Idle air control motor at zero for more than 20 seconds or engine speed does not equal control speed.

Vacuum leak found (IAC fully seated) -- Air entering intake manifold after the throttle body or throttle position sensor not reading properly.


For fault code 31

Evap Purge Flow Monitor Failure
-or-
Evap System small leak -- Insufficient vapor flow detected during evaporative emission system operation at idle.

-or-
EVAP System gross leak
-or-
EVAP Hose Pinched -- An open or shorted condition detected in the duty cycle purge solenoid circuit.

is the car 3.0-swapped? sebrings didnt get stock 3.0s until 2k1 or so.

yea, it should be a 2.5L mitsu v6. it's derrived from the 3.0, but definatly different.

woops, its my brothers car and i was thinkn of slappn a turbo on a 3.0:) at the time.
