According to Magnecor's catalog, '95-'00 Neon/Stratus DOHC & '03-'05 SRT-4 use the same wires.

the boot length is the same for all, the srt's have a diff plug(longer) and different VC. Trust me I had to research it to put the SRT4 vc on my '96 head. Milled the spark plug holes on the vc down ~1/2" due to the diff plugs and filled 2 holes that are not used

Well according to me, I took the magnecores off my 98 DOHC neon and tried to put them on my SRT-4 and they didnt work! This was back in 2004.

How much longer?

I know a few guys with the 45231 or 49231 Magnecor's in their SRT-4's with no issues.

JT, tell them to make sure the terminals on the wires are actually contacting the plugs. Mine weren't. The ones that are on my SRT-4 now are PN 45428.

I will get some pics of both boots, the SRT and newer boots are aprox 1/4" longer or slightly more.

So what is different between the head, spark plug and valvecover that makes the SRT-4's require different length boots?

Its not just the SRT, its also the 01 and up 2.4L's or 99 and up, 00 and up, can't remember which one right now. I believe its the valve cover that is the issue.
Simple way to figure it out is have someone measure the top of the head-no valve cover- to the bottom of the plug hole on both heads. I Have a 96 2.0L I can measure and post on Monday.

Good idea to measure both to find all the differences. :thumb:

DOn't forget, the spark plug thread reach on the 2001-up heads is different from earlier heads. It's a very odd sparkplug!

Anyone have a SRT spark plug vs reg DOHC spark plug they can take a pic of and post side by side?
