Went to the junk yard Saturday, got a 2001 2.4 Stratus head, low miles...

This will go on a 89 2.5 CB with a 2003 SRT 4 turbo set up.

Question is, how different are these cams compaired to an SRT set???

I would guess that SRT / PTGT cams would be better... But how much better....???

Sweet, I can't wait to go 16 valve but i might wait until the first street legals are over. I think I can squeeze a 12 out of my current combo, :thumb:

actually stock 2.0L neon cams are the best out of the stockers, they pick up a ton of top end over the stock SRT cams, but you need to run adjustable cam gears otherwise the valve overlap is too much and it will create sort of a boost leak in the head.

SRT cams are the same as regular 2.4 cams. You can/should play around with mixing the 2.4/2.0 cams and adjusting the timing to see what yields the best power level, but if you don't want to keep swapping cams out then a 2.0 set with the exhaust retarded approx -4 and the intake advanced approx +2-+4 should give you better end. Since I've been looking for a good set of cams for my srt I did a bit of research and thats what I came up with. But if you want to make better power, a nice set of aftermarket cams is the way to go.

Thats awesome. At exactly the same time, I was under a `96 Stratus in our local yard. $32 for a 16v DOHC head. w00t!

I traded a 2.2 8 valve head for a complete 99 2.4 DOHC Stratus motor. I think I got a good deal.

They actually have a set specific to the srt-4 that isn't listed on their site. Specs for the srt version stg2 is very close to the Brian Crower stage 3's and I'm looking at a set of those for the spring time.

Let's say I'll have a very Serious Woody...... :D

Andy Moore (lancer402 here) from here in town built one for his Shelby Lancer, I saw it pull 104mph on 12/14lbs of boost at the track.

Just about then I decided I needed one.... :amen:

And Andy has been a great source of info for this project!!!
