ive got an 89 daytona shelby w/ rear vented disk. so i know that i already have good brakes. but! i've got larger rims an i want something that will work EVEN BETTER and fill out my rims some. so i am woundering if the front spindle is the same from an srt4. rotor offset ect.. so that if a person wanted to they could just order a kit from brembo and wham! its done and bolt on fit. but i dont have a neon here to check w/ so im stuck to others info!

The SRT brakes aren't a bolt on and neither is the knuckle. I don't know off hand what is required to work but it can be done.
If you have skills and access to a machine shop, you can make anything fit, :amen:
im sure if srt brakes fit our cars a lot of people would have done it! I think rear vented disks and big front brakes are good enough, they have to be better than the stock brakes on my spirit! Small fronts with rear drums, yuck. I'm going to throw on big front brakes and vented rears over the summer.

I have no problem locking up all the wheels in my Daytona Shelby, the traction between the tires and road is the limit.

I've done a little looking into srt-4 brakes. From what I can tell it could be done with some modification. I decided it was too much work for me to do. However if I had an ABS car I'd prolly work a little harder at doing it. A non-ABS car will lock them too easily IMO. If you could make the ABS work on say a Spirit R/T I think you could make them work and have some pretty killer brakes.

Unless you are fading the stock brakes (which shouldnt be happening on the street anyway), its not worth the trouble.

I don't know about them not fitting who has actually tried them? I've seen the stoptech two piece rotors for the SRT-4 and they look pretty darned close to the same are the 11 inch ones that I have put on a Rampage... guess time will tell

the SRT front brake rotors are smaller than the RT/Shelby units!!! they do have an aftermarket upgrade for the SRT that you might like, if you can find a way to adapt the knuckles, etc!!

well i am interested in stoping better but mainly want to fill out my rims. but one of you brought up something. my daytona will bairly lock up the front and at that i have to stand on theim. they stop very good. but the pedal fills soft. i've bled and bled but no air. i dont understand.
and on my daytona shelby i dont get very much brake fade at all. even on track (vir) or auto x. but again the pedal is very soft. im at a loss

Make sure you have the 24mm MC, if not, you can step up the larger bore one, check out my FAQ on which one to use.

an 89 shelby daytona w/ the big brakes should already have the 24mm m/c. id check into making sure there are no leaks (maybe trade in the old calipers and m/c as cores) also braided hoses and fresh fluid (like dot4 or synthetic dot4+) will help. Morse makes ceramic pads for the 11" front brakes (i have a set for my k wagon project). i believe some other brands make ceramic disc as well.

the rubber lines may be worn out causing the pedal feel
contact FWDperformance for better ones

The wilwood kit for the SRT-4 is about 800 bucks and has 12.1" rotors
