Honestly, with all of the work that has been done on the SMEC cals in the past year, I don't think that I would want to take the plunge into anything new at all.

im with cordes.

when you go with megasquirt you have to rework the knock detection and make new timing/fuel maps and all kinds of other stuff.

I think its easier to socket the SMEC and start playing with things like ladybug (www.moparchem.com) or any of the excellent cals that Rob Lloyd (ShelGame) wrote. they are hosted over at http://autos.dir.groups.yahoo.com/group/D-Cal/ you have to learn how to mod cals but its more difficult to convert the car over to megasquirt in my opinion.
