'99 Grand Caravan. At highway speeds, or with RPM above 2k, I get decent heat. At lower engine speeds, the hot air becomes warm air, becomes cool air.
Sounds like low coolant, right? Nope. Coolant level is topped off and hasn't budged.
So, I figure its either:
1.) Weak waterpump (kinda hope this is it)
2.) Plugged heater core (uggg)
I'll throw a new t-stat in before I start on anything else, but engine temp gauge is steady.
Questions: Would either of these items cause this problem? How hard is the heater core to change on this vehicle? After the t-stat, what troubleshooting steps should I take to locate the problem?
