I picked up a 92 Spirit R/T on saturday. I've been wanting one of these for a LONG time. I found one locally at the right price. Here's a breakdown of what it's got. I'll get pics tomorrow.
- Red paint
- 15" Alloy wheels
- 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS
- Traveler computer thing
- Overhead console with compass, temperature, map lights, garage opner thing and sunglass thing
- Power windows, locks, driver seat and mirrors
The paint is fading away, but it isn't as bad as most A bodys i've seen. It has a couple little dents. The interior is pretty clean. The leather wrapping on the steering wheel is coming off. But other than that it's good.
The guy I bought it from is the original owner. He said the car was a demo model and had a little over 7000 miles when he got it. He kept records and gave most of them to me.
The head gasket was replaced last april along with a bunch of other stuff. The head looks good. It has three core plugs with three or more threads showing. From the looks of the paperwork, it was leaking coolant from the little freeze plug in the head. I'm going to bet that they just replaced the little plug. They surfaced the head, tanked it and replaced two lifters.
The timing belt was replaced in November. It doesnt say what brand. I guess I'll have to investigate. It also said it was towed in for a 'no run' condition. So I guess the belt snapped.
And when I was driving it earlier, the speed sensor went out. And now I hear a loud clunk when I decelerate in 1st or 2nd gear.
Is this the start of things to come? :)
