This is the way I did it:
Drilled and tapped a 1/8" hole on the top of the waterpump, put a straight fitting in. Drilled and tapped another 1/8" hole on the side of the cylinder head, put a 90° fitting in there. Finally connected the fittings with a hose, it was a very easy job.
Disadvantage on this way is, that I just don't think it'll work with an A/C bracket. A/C delete works fine!

Check out the pics:

Turbo oil feed coming off the back deck area of the block?

That looks more like the coolant return. You can see his oil feed is coming off the distribution block in front.

Doing it that way the water pump is actually feeding the #4 cylinder side of the head with lower temp coolant. A set up like that for each side of the head might work even better. Kind of a reversed cooled head, which can be very good!!

Look at this post - http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14228&postcount=18

Based on Rich's findings, before the T Stat opens you are getting flow from #4 through the T Stat housing and out through the heater by-pass and thence on into radiator tank (early pumps/L Body) or the low side of the water pump housing (later/whatever).

I'm not sure what you mean by the post but, placing the nipple where it is in this thread is not on the suction side of the water pump but is on the pressure side.

Sheesh, your right. I looked MPG Mike's set up (#4 to T Stat housing) and attributed it, somehow in my silly head, to Andreas' set up. My bad.:(

Here's the thread/pic I was thinking of - http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/showpost.php?p=113963&postcount=1

Thats how I did mine, way back when, :p

I don't trust using the frost plug to hold up against the vibration. I put my tee further forward. It works great, stopped my temp spiking and warms up alot faster, :thumb:

Andreas - You can keep the AC bracket if you drill and tap in the driver's side of the water pump housing and screw a 1/8 NPT 90* elbow fitting into that new hole and then route the hose down toward the pan and then across the pan rail to below the dipstick and then up from there toward #4.

What about just using the hole for the freeze plug and drill and tap the 2 holes for the T-Stat in the end of the head. And have any of you done this and do you have pics.

john, that sounds good, should work with no problem.

actually, thats the turbo coolant feed on the back side of the block steve. my oil feed comes from the distribution block in the front

I just used a straight fitting out of the waterpump outlet and it clears my a/c easily.

Yes, its been done, search around the cooling system section or the fab section, too lazy right now, :p If memory serves, some used a VW thermostat housing of the 1.8,s, 2.0L's.
